General liability and a Business Owners Policy (BOP) are related, but they aren't interchangeable.
General liability covers claims of bodily injury, property damage, and advertising injury caused by your business operations — it's often the minimum a landlord or client contract will require.
A BOP bundles that same general liability coverage together with commercial property coverage in a single, typically more cost-effective policy, built for small and mid-sized businesses that need both.
If you lease office space, own equipment, or carry inventory, a BOP is usually the more complete and efficient option. If you have no physical property to insure — a purely mobile or remote service business, for example — standalone general liability may be all you need.
We'll look at what you actually own and operate before recommending one over the other.
